Many customers prefer the convenience of paying the cash on delivery fee, but it often involves additional handling. This app allows you to add a custom COD fee seamlessly during checkout, helping with the COD shipping method and recovering those costs while keeping the buying experience transparent. This app gives you full control without needing any custom code.
To add an extra charge using the Cash on Delivery (COD) fee and link it to specific shipping methods in Shopify, you can use Shopify Functions or a third-party app. Native Shopify does not support conditional fees on payment methods. However, with Shopify Plus, you can use Shopify Functions to apply a COD fee during checkout based on the selected shipping method. For non-Plus stores, consider using apps like Advanced Cash on Delivery or COD Fees & Restrictions that allow setting COD fees conditionally.
To achieve this manually, you can create a custom shipping rate labeled as COD and include the additional fee in that shipping rate. Then, restrict the COD payment method using Shopify's Payment Customizations (available for Plus) to only show for that shipping rate.
